Dysprosium, pronounced [dis-pro-see-um], is a rare element, and the 66th element in the periodic table.

Dysprosium as a very high ability to absorb neutrons, this makes it really good for shielding in nuclear reactors, and it is also used to make lasers and lights.

This is a general science zone, where we will meet five researchers from completely different areas of science.

There is a scientist studying why we fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning, another one investigating climate change, and one working on nanoelectronics to improve mobile phones. There is also a scientist working on eye-hand coordination, and another working on how to better store nuclear waste.
