      Hi NanoBrook,

      During the Cold War, the Americans needed a base, where they could work on new weapons, fighter jets and missiles. They built the base in the Nevada desert, because it was isolated. With it being in the middle of no-where, everyone who worked on the base knew each other and therefore it stopped the chances of spies from the USSR getting in and stealing their secrets.
