Yep, the moon will always be with us, which is vital because it controls our tides and hopefully we will soon really harness them as a source of reneweable power!
The only way we could lose the moon would be if it got hit by a really large asteroid, however such an asteroid would be more likely to hit us, so I doubt it would happen. Because the moon has negligible atmosphere, you can still see all its impact crators from previous impacts, because they haven’t been worn away by the weather,
The moon is in a pretty stable orbit, which is good as we don’t want it to crash into us. But it could be dislodged if a big enough asteroid or comet hit it.
