      Hi Kat,
I have been really lucky to have loads of memorable experiences whilst I have been at University. I will never forget swimming on a coral reef in Jamaica whilst doing fieldwork during my undergraduate degree nor will I forget the first time I presented my work to all the other scientists in my area of research during my PhD.

But, for me, the most memorable part of my university experience are the friends I have made. They are the people I trust most and I know will always be there for me, even though we all now live apart. Finding friends like that is truely memorable.

I’ve had so much fun at University, meeting so many people and forming so many friendships and memories which will last a lifetime.
So i’d say the most memorable part is the whole experience of University life, there have been enjoyable times, like when we played laser tag, or fired water balloons off the rough of the physics building across campus.

Scientifically, I think my most memorable experience was running when I first ran an experiment that I came up with with a friend. When we started we were so excited, and thought our experiment would solve this long standing debate about how people perceive the length of things we hold on our hands. The answer we found was nowhere near as clear as expected (like it often is I’ve learned since) and did not result in a major breakthrough in science….

But I will also never forget the time when we went on a train trip to Belgium on Thursday evening, had drinks and karaoke all night, returned with the first train in the morning and arrived just in time for class!

      Hi Kat,

I think the most memorable experience from my classes was when I got to study real human brains up close! People donate them after they die to be used for teaching and we got to use them to learn about where everything is in the brain. It was really cool to see a real life brain!

Besides classes, uni was really fun as I was lucky enough to make some really good friends in my first week, we had some pretty crazy fun times 🙂

Definitely living in halls during my first year. So many evenings where nothing was planned turned into a hilarious adventure. One Halloween we got into the basement of our building by mistake and ended up finding a secret passageway into the building next door which was pretty cool, but also very creepy on Halloween.
